Description:
Provide support with course preparation including tasks like data tracking, scheduling and calendar creation. The role suits a detail-oriented, self-starter who enjoys planning, communicating clearly, and using productivity tools—including AI platforms—to streamline academic work. Knowledge of the tools and applications listed in this posting is preferred, but training will be provided as needed; being a fast learner will be critical to success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with formatting and editing course materials in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Docs/Word, Slides/PowerPoint).
- Provide assistance with creating, formatting, and maintaining spreadsheets, checklists, and simple dashboards for course and project tracking.
- Provide assistance with building and managing Google Forms, compiling responses, and producing concise summaries.
- Provide assistance with Canvas content uploads, file organization, and consistent naming conventions.
- Join occasional class sessions (online graduate courses and the M/W/F 9:00 a.m. section) to take notes, track attendance, and capture action items.
- Provide assistance with drafting first-pass outlines, tables, and visuals using AI tools, and documenting prompts and workflows.
- Assist, under the direction of the course instructor, with grading assignments (e.g., rubric scoring, accuracy checks, organization of submissions).
- Assist with developing and maintaining Google Calendars (course schedules, project timelines, reminders).
- Triage tasks, anticipate needs, and keep a running “next actions” list with deadlines.
- Maintain professional communication with students.
Qualifications:
- Current SUU undergraduate or graduate student attending at least some face-to-face classes on campus.
- Proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Word/PowerPoint; reliable file management.
- Comfortable using AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT) to draft, summarize, organize, and quality-check work.
- Personal qualities: organized, assertive, kind, punctual, and self-directed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong skills in Excel/Google Sheets (sorting, filtering, formulas, charts).
- Advanced Google Docs/Forms/Slides formatting and template setup.
- Familiarity with Zoom (hosting, screen share, breakout rooms, recordings).
- Experience with Canvas is a plus.
- Available to attend the M/W/F 9:00 a.m. class block.
Schedule & Modality
- 10 hours per week, primarily on weekdays.
- Mix of on-campus tasks and remote work as assigned.
- Real-time support during some online graduate sessions.
